JENNIFER HUDSON – NEW FACE OF WEIGHT WATCHERS

Curvy beauty, actress and singer Jennifer Hudson looks fabulous recently and has just become the face of Weight Watchers. She looks healthy and had curves in all the right places. Jennifer says “I was very comfortable with myself before,” she shared. “I have a child now and I want to set a great example for him. Make better life choices, health choices, and just create a good example for him growing up.”

Ms. Hudson, 28, who won an Academy Award in 2007 for her role as the singer Effie in “Dreamgirls,” followed a Weight Watchers program for several months, tracking what she ate, intensifying her exercise routine and meeting weekly with a diet coach. The Grammy-winning singer dropped a noticeable, but undisclosed, number of pounds — a topic of celebrity gossip sites and blogs — in the months since she gave birth to her first child, a boy, last August.

Weight Watchers has long used star power in its campaigns. Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, was its spokeswoman in the United States from 1997 to 2007, and the actress Jenny McCarthy did a stint last year.

Ms. Hudson’s Weight Watchers role began with a live Facebook chat, and she has started to blog about her weight loss on weightwatchers.com. The blog will include commentary on what she likes to eat, recipes and exercise tips, Ms. Callan said. Later this spring, the blog will include her experiences making a film in South Africa about Winnie Mandela, the former wife of Nelson Mandela.

The four Weight Watchers commercials were filmed at the same time, with Ms. Hudson dressed casually in pants, a striped shirt and a cardigan, in a music studio setting. The look and setting were chosen “because we wanted people to be able to see her body, with clothing that shows her new shape,” said Joyce King Thomas, chief creative officer for McCann Erickson, a unit of the Interpublic Group of Companies, which handled the campaign.

ASOS LAUNCHES ‘CURVE’

Fashion e-tailer ASOS  has just launched a new curves section to the site with items ranging from 20 to 26, which is great news for fashion concious plus size women. They already designed clothing for size 18 but this development is fantastic and I’m hoping that other retailers see sense and stop thinking size 16 is the end of the line when it comes to stylishly dressing.

The collection is relatively small at the moment, but I can understand why with the current climate, they need to judge the popularity and success of the clothing. My favourite peices are the ones below. The website states that this collection is “Trend led collection for sizes 20-26 featuring all the key peices you will need for the season. The price range is fab, starting at £6 for a vest to the maximum price of £100 for a long length leather jacket.

V MAGAZINE CELEBRATES CURVES…

Fashion magazine, V, has come up trumps this month with its size issue, named Love U just the way U R! I buy V anyway, just because of the fabulous fashion spreads but this issue is definately my favourite yet. It stars Crystal Renn among others modelling the same outfits as other slimmer models usually used in the world of fashion in the ‘One Size Fits All’ editorial.

Heres a quote from the mag…”WHAT’S THE SKINNY ON TODAY’S MODELS? BIG IS BIGGER THAN EVER, AND THESE BOMBSHELLS OF PLUS-SIZE ARE PROVING THAT THERE’S PLENTY OF ROOM IN THE FASHION WORLD FOR WOMEN WHO LOOK LIKE…WOMEN”

I’ve added images from the issue for those of you out there that dont buy the mag, just because it is just curvilicious

GOK WAN SHAPES OUR ‘BANGERS’

Ive just found Gok Wans new underwear range for Simply Yours and I absolutely love it! Ive always been the sort of girl to flaunt it rather than hide it and theres nothing better than some shape enhancing underwear to set me on the right track.

Even the styling on the promotion images gets me excited, I mean how hot do these girls look seriously. If this underwear makes me look even a quatre of how sexy these ladies look then I’ll be more than happy.

Loving how a slick of fushcia lipstick can turn a whole look around. When I was younger I used to over compensate for the lack of style in my wardrobe by using far too much make up and making my hair far too big. Now I’ve grown into my skin and have become so much happier I only need a slick of lipstick and feel ready to face the world.

CURVY CONFIDENTIAL

I officially heart curvy confidential, a website that many of you will be a fan of already. So I thought I’d add some fantastic advice from the site about shedding weight….

Ok everyone…lets drop that weight!! That’s right, let’s get rid of it once and for all.

If you know me or what I stand for…you may think that I have had a hit on my head, or a change of heart, or a lapse in all that I write and speak about.

Not true.

I actually mean it.  Lets all lose some weight!  Oh, it is probably not the “weight” that you may think.  I am talking about all of the self-doubt, the degrading thoughts within your head, and all of the other WEIGHT that you pile on yourself when talking about your body and its girth/weight/poundage/pooch/fat…or any other word that you could use to diminish all of the real beauty that you actually do possess.   I have been working with, coaching, counseling and teaching people (not only women either) about body issues and self-loathing a lot lately.    The topic is always so fascinating to me and continues to be.   What I am finding is that many of us pile on the “weight” of carrying around a bad attitude and it is HEAVY.

Self-speak is constantly occurring.   Our job is to re-program, if you will, our negative thoughts about what we look like.   Why not make the choice to drop the bad thinking and replace with thoughts of all that we actually are that is great and all of the wonderful qualities that we do possess.

So I am suggesting that you drop a few unnecessary pounds of criticism. And not just about yourself, of others as well.   Stop looking for the seeming flaws in yourself and point out to yourself all of the beauty of who you are.  And begin to notice the truth about the beauty in others too.

Confidence is the best accessory a person can put on, a wise and loving man once told me.   I loved that.   I still do.   I still remember it like it was yesterday and it was many years ago.     Look lovingly at your reflection rather than with a critical, judgmental eye.   You are PERFECT just the way you are.   Remember that.   So dress it up, sexify it, strut it, move and dance it, adore it…it being you!

With love, from a “weightless” woman.

Fabulous advice if I say so myself…

WAIST NOT, WANT NOT!

So with my luscious curves looking fuller than ever I thought why hide them away as winter draws closer, when I can slipped them into something a little more sexier. And whats more sexier than a satin, steel boned corset. I came across these gorgeous corsets from truecorset.com, where sizing goes up to a brilliant 30, which is 42″ round the waist. Hello, Dita Von Teese here I come!

I cant decide which one I love the most, whether it be this stunning purple corset with black lace overlay or even this cheeky red number which would look perfect with some black french knickers. As you’d guess I like to flaunt my curves and my boyfriend certainly wont mind when I turn up in these. Christmas, my fellow glamouplus’s has come early for him.
